I'd like to know exactly where I place the syntax :

{faqslider art|sliders}CategoryName{/faqslider}

[Where "CategoryName" is the name of an FAQ Category I have on my Joomla site.)

I placed it at the beginning of one the the articles in the FAQ and received a memory error?

Exactly where do I place the syntax?

Hi. Sorry you're having problems. But...

I've tested this with a category that had over 150 articles and it rendered fine. I've not seen a memory warning at any stage. It's also been tested on shared hosting where you are most likely to get a memory warning because of reduced resources. So, I can't explain that one for you.

Can you post with details of your hosting environment, Joomla version and the text of the memory error. A link to your site would be very useful too.

Hi

The plugin aggregates all the articles in the specified category or modules from the module position and places them in tabs or sliders. You only place the plugin code where you would like the sliders to appear. You do not need to touch the articles that you want to appear within the sliders/tabs.

Does that answerthe question and solve the problem? You might well get a memory problem/server error if you were trying to make sliders in every article that also contained all the articles on the category. They would have produced an infinite loop!

I now have it working ! It was a misunderstanding regarding the placement of the syntax. I have re-written the FAQ for your web site, maybe this will help other newbees like me??

FAQ Slider is simple to use. Follow the steps:
1. Install via the Joomla! menu Extensions->Install/Uninstall
2. Publish the plugin in Extensions->Plugin Manager (it will be listed as Content - FAQ Slider)
3. Create a new article using the Joomla! Article Manager (note: make sure the new article is NOT assigned to a Joomla! Category which holds FAQs, this will cause a loop in your code)
4. In the new article, where you would like the tabs/sliders to appear, insert the plugin code with the correct syntax as outlined below:
{faqslider|sliders}position{/faqslider}
o position is either the article category or module position which the articles or modules will be displayed from. This does not have to be an exact match. top would match all top rated. However, the value entered in position must relate to only one category name or module position.
o You should not make any changes to the articles you would like to appear in the sliders/tabs
o You can call the new Article from a menu to display the tabs/sliders
Ordering of the generated sliders/tabs is controlled by the plugin parameters and can be Joomla, Title ascending, Title descending, Date created ascending, Date created descending, Date modified ascending, Date modified descending.
FAQ Slider will automatically insert appropriate CSS styles for the sliders/tabs but if you already have these styled, you can turn it off in the plugin parameters.

Glad you have it working now. Thanks for the effort with the FAQ Slider FAQs - I'll have a look. It seems to have been a common problem. Funny how it seemed obvious to me from the inside having put it together...

But... {faqslider|sliders}position{/faqslider} isn't right. It should be {faqslider sliders}position{/faqslider} but if you're mainly using the sliders you can set that as default and simply use {faqslider}position{/faqslider}

I will be putting in a check to make sure the article is not in the category specified.
