TOPIC: Update to FAQ in FAQ Slider area
#667
Update to FAQ in FAQ Slider area 1 Month, 4 Weeks ago
Have just spent a few hair pulling hours setting up FAQSlider only to find that my problem (the tabs had a lot of free space between them and the sliders using the section option) was (I think)a result of the override used by the beez template. Perhaps since this is one of the core templates supplied with Joomla it would be worth while highlighting the issue in the FAQ area?

I almost gave up on FAQslider but am very glad I didn't it is a superb piece of software, does exactly what I needed and saved me a huge amount of time and effort.

Keep up the good work.

Forgive me if this is in the wrong area.

Hi

Thank you for the post and donation!

The free space issue has ovcurred intermittently with some templates, yes. In fact with IE6 when viewing this site there is the same extra space. I have yet to fully isolate the problem (in IE6 anyway). How did you fix the problem with the Beez template?

mmm... Unfortunately its not exactly an ideal solution and perhaps a needlessly extreme one. I simply deleted the com_content folder (within the template folder /html) which does the "overrides". In my own case this didn't create any real issues as the formatting etc was irrelevant to me but obviously others won't be impressed with the cunning solution!

I think the problem is due to the BEEZ override removing a class "table" which appears present in the other templates but unfortunately I dont know enough about the files involved to clarify. I can check and send you the relevant html code as seen in firebug if it is of any use?

Personally I think the problem lies with the Beez template as it obviously removes a core formatting component. Really not particulary good since it is so much a part of the Joomla distribution.
