[SOLVED] error when enabling faq slider plugin 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
When I enable the plugin, the following message is displayed on the client:
"Warning: Missing argument 3 for plgContentFaqSlider::onPrepareContent() in /home/dontgetl/public_html/plugins/content/faqslider.php on line 34
"

Can someone please tell me what might be causing this problem?

Thanks

That's an odd one. What version of Joomla are you using? Is legacy enabled?

Version is 1.5.8 Production/Stable [ Wohnaiki ] 10-November-2008.
PHP 5.2.6
I get this error in both IE7 and Firefox.
Legacy is not enabled.

Thanks

The reason this is an odd one is that the error is being generated when the plugin is called for. The line that this refers to reads something like
Code:

public function onPrepareContent( &$article, &$params, $limitstart )
which is the Joomla standard way to call a content plugin of this type. It seems that the place that the plugin is being called from is not supplying the $limitstart variable. Is the plugin code in a com_content article? Can you send me admin access to have a look? I can't see that this is a FAQ Slider problem really but it is intriguing...

Ok, look at what others have found like here It seems to be an intermittent problem possibly related to incomplete files after upgrades. A solution is to change the above line of code I posted to read $limitstart = 0. However, that doesn't answer why it hapens for you but not for others. Also, you should upgrade Joomla - 1.5.8 is OLD.
