Help! I just install on a client's joomla website 'Add Keywords' and got this error message.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home/my website/public_html/Home/plugins/system/addkeywords.php on line 21

I am now unable to access the admin to change or delete the plugin

I am using this plugin in another website and it works fine. The only difference I can see is that I set the SEO settings in the Global Configuration for the problem website to
Search Engine friendly URLs - yes
Use Apache mod_rewrite - Yes

Where the website that is working is set on

Search Engine friendly URLs - yes
Use Apache mod_rewrite - No

I would appreciate any help as son as possible as my client is not very happy at the moment.

Add Keywords needs PHP5 and you have installed this on a server that is running PHP4.

Solutions:

1) change your server to run PHP5 - really essentail in this day and age. this can usually be achieved via a .htaccess command or cPanel but it may need your host to sort it out.

2) ftp in and rename the addkeywords.php to somethings like _addkeywords.php. that will allow you to temporarily get into the admin backend and sort things out. if/when you come to uninstall, if you are still running PHP4 and the file is still renamed then there will be a series of errors thrown as the file won't be found for uninstallation. you may be able to rename immediately before the uninstallation...
